I stopped creating stained glass for quite some time, but in 2006 I started again with the copper foil method. I had forgotten how much I loved the art. I haven’t been able to stop creating windows since. I’ve set up a studio in my home and can be found there almost any time of day or night.
Hanging a stained glass window instead of a curtain gives the whole room a beautiful glow and atmosphere. Bathrooms are perfect to block out the view but let in the light.
Everything I look at I try to image it in glass. My most recent pieces have been of pets that have passed away. A Labrador, Mollie, and two Rottweilers, Blitzen and Sara were my first commissions for pets (these can be viewed under workshop). I incorporated the dog’s tags into each piece. These were the most rewarding pieces I had ever done. These brought so much joy to the owners, that I’m looking forward to starting others.
Working from home, on a part time basis, I create Custom Stained Glass Art.
I was first introduced to stained glass in 1979 by Donald Gene Barrante who worked out of his studio, a cabin in the woods of Conowingo. He instructed me in the lead came method. I signed my pieces NLY with his db insignia and the date. I had gone to college to become a commercial artist but my life took me down a different path.
